Malware is a
term used for software designed basically to gather information or
damage someone’s computer without their knowledge. In short malware is

your computer starts misbehaving. Advertisement pop-ups will keep
disrupting, your settings change on their own and you cannot re-set
them, your web browser has components you did not install or your PC is
running extremely slow and crashes a lot.

If

do that, than you should take action. Launch your Windows Task Manager,
go to Process Tab and check for any new/unwanted file (you did not
install). If any pop-up pops warning you or asking for credit card
details for any software, your PC is infested.
